The Arran Malt is a renowned Single Malt distillery located on the beautiful Isle of Arran, off the west coast of Scotland. This craft distillery produces a wide range of exceptional whiskies, with a diversity of carefully crafted expressions and finishes. Founded in 1995 in Lochranza, in the north of the island, near Loch na Davie — the pure, natural water source used for production — it combines tradition and modernity in its expertise. Initially, the grist (milled malt mixed with boiling water for fermentation) was purchased externally, but since the installation of an internal mill, full control over the raw material has been achieved. The Arran Malt whisky is distinguished by its fresh, fruity, and tangy aromatic profile, notably due to the carefully controlled slow distillation in the pot stills, ensuring finesse and complexity.
The limited edition Explorer Series, Volume 3 - Kildonan & Pladda Island presents an exceptional Single Malt, aged for 21 years. This third edition pays tribute to the wild and panoramic beauty of the Isle of Arran, with a label illustrating the spectacular view from the hills overlooking the village of Kildonan towards Pladda Island. This rare whisky has benefited from patient aging in sherry casks of various sizes, bringing richness and depth, followed by an elegant finish in Ruby Port casks that imparts both sweetness and intense fruity notes. Production is limited to only 9,000 bottles worldwide, with only 420 bottles released on the French market, making it a true collector's item for enthusiasts and connoisseurs.
