SAVANNA - Aged Rum - 15 years - Grand Aroma cask 931 - Port Cask Blend - 49.2%
Originally, Domaine Savanna, located in Saint-Paul (Réunion Island) at the foot of majestic mountains, was founded in the early 19th century as an iconic sugar plantation of the island. The Savanna distillery was established a little later, between 1948 and 1950, driven by the innovative vision of Émile Hugot. A distinguished alumnus of the École Centrale des Arts et Manufactures in Paris, Émile Hugot left his mark on the global sugar industry through his expertise and commitment. Since 1982, thanks to a strategic contract, the distillery strengthened its position in the premium rum segment, a recognition highlighted by being the first European distillery to obtain ISO 9002 certification, a guarantee of an exceptional quality standard recognized internationally.
This exceptional rum results from a meticulous blend of two distinct grand aromas: one aged in Cognac casks, the other in Port casks. These two unique expressions are then matured together for a year and a half in a Cognac cask, creating a complex and refined aromatic harmony. This exclusive cuvée was born from the expert collaboration between Johnny Landais, the talented cellar master of the Savanna distillery, and La Maison du Whisky, a key reference in the selection and distribution of exceptional spirits.
