TROIS RIVIERES - Aged Rum - Single Cask - Vintage 2000 - 42%
At the heart of the history of Martinican agricultural rum, Nicolas Fouquet, superintendent of the crown's finances, granted himself in 1660 a vast concession of 2000 hectares in Martinique, the birthplace of the famous Trois-Rivières rum. Despite his fall from grace, the land changed hands several times until in 1770, three sugar planters acquired the estate. The Marraud des Grottes family equipped it with an iconic distillery in 1785, marking a decisive turning point in the production of exceptional rum. Today, the distillery is managed by the Chevrillon group, although its historic site closed in 2004, with distillation transferred to La Mauny where the famous historic Trois-Rivières distillation column stands. Recognized for its exceptional vintage agricultural rums, Trois-Rivières has seen its reputation grow with a prestigious range, cultivating the richness of its terroir and ancestral know-how. Legendary vintages such as 1953, 1964, 1969, or 1977 testify to this pursuit of excellence among the most discerning connoisseurs.
