Originally, the prestigious Domaine Savanna, located in Saint-Paul at the foot of the volcanic mountains of Réunion, was established in the early 19th century as an artisanal sugar factory. The Savanna distillery, a symbol of tradition and excellence, was founded between 1948 and 1950 by Émile Hugot, an engineer graduated from the École Centrale des Arts et Manufactures in Paris and an internationally recognized figure in the sugar industry. Since 1982, thanks to a strong commitment contract, the distillery has elevated the quality of its rums to the high-end market, becoming the first European distillery certified ISO 9002, a guarantee of rigorous expertise and impeccable quality.
