SAINT JAMES - Nectar of the Master Cellar Master - 40%
The Saint-James Distillery, a jewel of the agricultural heritage of Martinique, boasts a rich history beginning with Reverend Edmond Lefébure, Superior Father and passionate chemist. His keen sense for the quality of sugarcane eaux-de-vie distilled around his hospital led him to produce these precious rums himself. In 1973, the prestigious Cointreau house acquired Saint-James Rums and centralized production in Sainte-Marie. Since 2003, the distillery has belonged to the renowned La Martiniquaise group, guaranteeing its excellence and tradition.
Saint James rum is made from pure sugarcane juice, fermented and then distilled in a traditional Creole column. This authentic technique, certified A.O.C Rhum de la Martinique, gives Saint James rums an exceptional aromatic richness, ideal for aging in oak barrels that enhances their flavors. Concerned with quality and authenticity, no additives or sweeteners are added. Committed to a sustainable circular economy, the distillery limits its environmental impact: nearby sugarcane fields reduce CO2 emissions related to transport, bagasse is used as fuel and for electricity production via a turbo-alternator, and vinasse is recycled to irrigate plantations, ensuring a virtuous ecological cycle.
