DRUMSHANBO - Ceramic Bottle Panda Conservation Edition - Gunpowder Irish Gin - 43%
The Shed Distillery is ideally located on the edge of a picturesque lake in Drumshanbo, in the heart of Ireland's preserved nature. PJ and Denise Rigney, along with their passionate team of expert distillers, constantly innovate by exploring local wild grains, authentic Irish flora, and carefully selected exotic plants. The Shed has a unique setup consisting of five copper stills: three dedicated to producing Irish whiskey, two specifically designed for Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin, as well as two copper column stills used to produce Sausage Tree Pure Irish vodka. These exceptional stills, custom-made by Arnold Holstein in Germany, were meticulously transported and installed in Drumshanbo, ensuring unmatched quality and authenticity.
The distillation process of the Gunpowder Gin is a meticulous art, beginning with a slow distillation using 8 natural botanicals added directly into the copper still: juniper berries, meadowsweet, cardamom, coriander seeds, angelica root, iris root, caraway seeds, and star anise. To this aromatic base, 4 complementary plants are added in the steam basket: gunpowder green tea, Chinese lemon, oriental grapefruit, and kaffir lime, giving the gin a unique complexity and freshness.
The creature depicted on this bottle is an intriguing mythological figure from local legend: the fantastic offspring of a hare and an American antelope, born in the heart of a swirling storm, symbolizing the originality and authenticity of the product.
This special and solidarity edition is marketed by Clos des Spiritueux and actively supports the Sichuan Green Foundation. A portion of the profits is fully donated to the protection of China's giant pandas, thus contributing to the preservation of this emblematic and fragile species. Choosing this gin means opting for an exceptional product that respects both the environment and Irish artisanal traditions.
