Loch Lomond - Inchmoan - 12 years - 46% ABV
The Loch Lomond Distillery, a true gem located in Alexandria on the shores of the famous Loch Lomond in the iconic Highlands region of Scotland, is renowned for its unique history and exceptional craftsmanship. Founded in 1966 through a collaboration between Duncan Thomas, an American owner of the legendary now-defunct Littlemill distillery, and Barton Brands based in Chicago, it has experienced several significant phases. After a full takeover by Barton Brands in 1971, the distillery was temporarily closed in 1984 during the severe crisis that hit the whisky industry. It was bought by Inver House in 1985 and then sold to Glen Catrine Bonded Warehouse Ltd in 1986. Under this new ownership, it became the most flexible and innovative distillery in Scotland, capable of producing a wide range of styles with expertise. Since its sale to the Loch Lomond Group in 2014, the distillery continues to combine tradition and innovation to offer exceptional whiskies. It is worth noting that Loch Lomond whisky is famous among enthusiasts as the favorite of Captain Haddock in the cult Tintin comics.
Loch Lomond Inchmoan is a peated whisky carefully aged for 12 years in first-fill charred Bourbon barrels as well as second-fill Bourbon barrels. This double maturation gives it a balanced and complex profile, blending peaty power with delicate spicy notes, ideal for lovers of bold flavors.
