Michter's Barrel - Barrel Strength Straight Kentucky Rye
The prestigious Michter’s Fort Nelson distillery is nestled in the iconic historic Fort Nelson building, located in the heart of Louisville, in the United States. This four-story monument, completed in 1890, was once an integral part of the Nelson defensive fort, built by the early settlers of Louisville in the early 1780s. In 2012, the building was acquired with the ambition to renovate and revive this place by becoming the first brand to recreate a functional distillery right in downtown Louisville. Michter’s stands out for its rigorous commitment to quality, using only non-GMO American grains, carefully selected and graded according to the strict USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) standards as US No. 1, the highest grain grade available in the United States. These grains – corn, rye, barley, among others – are delivered to the production site in Shively (Louisville), where they undergo thorough quality controls in Michter’s internal laboratory before being precisely milled using the "Michter’s Cage Mill," a unique mill custom-designed and manufactured by Stedman to ensure a perfect and homogeneous grind.
Michter’s Barrel Rye is an exceptional whiskey made from carefully selected American rye, expertly distilled and then slowly aged in new toasted American white oak barrels, imparting this Rye with intense aromatic depth and remarkable complexity. This Barrel Strength Straight Kentucky Rye expression offers enthusiasts a perfect balance of power, richness, and finesse, embodying the full tradition and authentic craftsmanship of Michter’s.
