The Waterford Distillery, a symbol of Irish excellence, is ideally located in the historic city of Waterford, Ireland. This ambitious project was launched by Mark Reynier, a visionary recognized for his major contribution to the revival of Islay Bruichladdich Single Malt whisky, directly inspired by the methods of the greatest international winemakers. Originally created by Diageo in 2004, this distillery was completely converted in 2015 to produce exceptional spirits based on the unique concept of terroir. Waterford Distillery promotes an innovative concept of terroir whiskies where every step is meticulously controlled, from the origin of the barley to its specific cultivation.

Mark Reynier works closely with 86 selected Irish farms, spread over 19 distinct soil types, including organic and biodynamic barley crops. Thanks to an advanced digital logistics system, each harvest is tracked, stored, malted, and distilled independently, thus ensuring a unique and authentic expression of each plot.

Extraordinary Journeys is an exclusive micro-cuvée composed of 4 barley varieties (Overture, Irina, Taberna, and Propino) grown on different terroirs by 18 committed farmers. This rare edition benefited from careful maturation for 3 years, 5 months, and 27 days. The final blend was made on May 19, 2021, with rigor and passion. The casks used are of exceptional quality: 45% premium French oak from the legendary Château Margaux, 29% first-fill American oak, 13% Vin Doux Naturel casks, and 13% virgin American oak. This careful selection gives this whisky a complex and balanced aromatic richness. Production is limited to only 1,000 numbered bottles, offering a precious rarity for collectors and enthusiasts.
