WATERFORD - The Cuvée 1.1 - Bottled in 2021 - 50% ABV
The Waterford Distillery is located in the heart of the historic city of Waterford, Ireland. This innovative distillery was launched by Mark Reynier, a visionary known for revitalizing Islay Bruichladdich Single Malt whisky, inspired by the most prestigious international winemakers. Originally built by Diageo in 2004, the distillery was transformed in 2015 to produce exceptional whiskies. Waterford's distinctive philosophy is based on producing terroir whiskies, highlighting the precise origin of the barley, as well as its soil and unique cultivation method. Mark Reynier works closely with 86 Irish farms growing barley on 19 different soil types, including organic and biodynamic practices. Thanks to a highly efficient digital logistics system, each farmer's harvest is collected, stored, malted, and distilled completely separately to ensure optimal traceability and unparalleled aromatic richness.
The Cuvée 1.1 is an exclusive limited edition of 40,000 bottles, bottled on July 26, 2021. It represents a remarkable synthesis of the 25 "Single Farm Origins" marketed since the distillery's creation. This exceptional cuvée is made from 4 carefully selected barley varieties: Irina (36%), Overture (32%), Taberna (19%), and Propino (13%), aged in balance in 29 different types of casks to create a complex and refined aromatic palette.
