GLENDRONACH - 18 years - Allardice - 46%
GlenDronach is a renowned Scottish Single Malt with a rich history, originating from the village of Forgue, near Huntly in Aberdeenshire in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Founded in 1826 by James Allardice, the GlenDronach distillery is attached to Glen House, itself built in 1771. This iconic house has endured through centuries and changes of ownership, notably joining the famous Teacher and Sons house in 1960, known for its blended whiskies, until its mothballing in 1996. After a reopening orchestrated by Allied Distillers in 2001, the distillery joined the Pernod-Ricard group via Chivas Brothers in 2006, before passing under the banner of the Benriach Distillery Company in 2008. This group, which also includes the GlenDronach and Glengassaugh distilleries, was acquired in 2016 by the American giant Brown-Forman, thus ensuring the longevity and reputation of its exceptional single malts.
The GlenDronach 18 years, named in tribute to the founder James Allardice, is an exceptional whisky fully matured in carefully selected Oloroso sherry casks, giving this single malt rich, deep, and perfectly balanced aromas. This exceptional vintage was first released in 2009 and is now prized by connoisseurs worldwide seeking the authenticity and complexity of a traditional non-peated whisky.
