RHUM TROIS RIVIERES - Hors d'Âge - Vintage 1953 - 45% ABV
At the beginning of the legendary history of Trois-Rivières rum, Nicolas Fouquet, the famous superintendent of the crown's finances, was granted an exceptional concession of 2000 hectares in Martinique in 1660. After his disgrace, many owners succeeded one another before the estate was acquired in 1770 by three visionary sugar planters. In 1785, the Marraud des Grottes family established an ambitious distillery that would forever mark the history of Martinique's agricultural rum. Today, the prestigious Chevrillon group continues this tradition, although the original distillery closed its doors in 2004, with production transferred to La Mauny. Trois-Rivières has built an international reputation with its exceptional vintage range, which strongly contributes to its growing fame. It is recognized for producing some of the greatest vintage aged agricultural rums in the world – legendary vintages such as 1953, 1964, 1969, and 1977 are among the coveted treasures of the most refined connoisseurs.
