The La Maugée estate, renamed Saint-Etienne in 1863, evolved from a sugar factory into an iconic distillery thanks to its acquisition by Amédée Aubery in 1882. This visionary industrial captain modernized the facilities while harnessing the natural energy of the Lézarde river, which still runs through the estate today and is used to dilute the cane juices. In 1994, the Hayot family (Yves and José) acquired the property following the previous owners' judicial recovery. Significant renovation work was then undertaken in this Martinican estate classified as a Historic Monument, notably including the transfer of the column to Simon. The Saint-Etienne brand thus became HSE, a symbol of excellence and authenticity of Martinican rum.

This very old VSOP rum from HSE benefits from an exceptionally long aging in American white oak barrels, which gives it a richly complex aromatic palette dominated by subtle notes of warm spices. Crafted with passion and expertise, this exceptional rum is here presented by Clos des Spiritueux in a sumptuous collector's gift box accompanied by two tasting glasses specially designed to reveal the full finesse of its aromas.
