GLENDRONACH - 15 years - Sherry Cask - 46%
GlenDronach is an iconic Single Malt recognized for its historical heritage, crafted in the charming village of Forgue, near Huntly, in the heart of Aberdeenshire in the Scottish Highlands, a region renowned for the quality of its whiskies. Glen House, the historic residence, was built in 1771, while the GlenDronach distillery was established in 1826 thanks to its visionary founder, James Allardice. This prestigious single malt has endured through the ages and changes of ownership, notably coming under the management of Teacher and Sons, famous blend producers, in 1960. GlenDronach made history as a major distillery, although its production was temporarily halted in 1996. Thanks to the intervention of Allied Distillers, its reopening in 2001 revived its prestige. Subsequently, GlenDronach joined Chivas Brothers of the Pernod Ricard group in 2006, then was acquired in 2008 by the Benriach Distillery Company, before joining the large international group Brown-Forman in 2016, which also owns the Glenglassaugh and Benriach distilleries.
The GlenDronach 15 years old is one of the most sought-after expressions by whisky enthusiasts. After ten years of absence, due to a shortage of sufficiently aged casks, this exceptional single malt marks its grand return to the market and excites connoisseurs. Its secret lies in maturation exclusively in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso Sherry casks, which impart sumptuous aromas of dried fruits, subtle spices, and dark chocolate, enhanced by a rich and velvety texture.
