BENRIACH - 10 years - 43%
BenRiach Distillery is an iconic Single Malt distillery located in the heart of the prestigious Speyside region in Scotland, globally renowned for its exceptional whiskies. This distillery has a rich and fascinating history, marked by periods of closure and revival. Founded in 1898 on the same site as the famous Longmorn distillery, it draws its pure, crystalline water directly from the underground Burnside stream. Despite an initial short activity halted by the whisky industry crisis, the distillery managed to be reborn thanks to the perseverance of its new owners.
Reopened in 1965 by Glenlivet Distillers, BenRiach underwent a complete renovation that allowed the innovative introduction of peated malt from 1972, initially used for blends but quickly appreciated for its unique characteristics. The first BenRiach Single Malt was officially launched in 1994, thus confirming its premium positioning. After several ownership changes, including Seagram and Pernod Ricard, the distillery was temporarily put on hold in 2002 before being taken over by an independent consortium in 2004, then integrated into the Brown-Forman group in 2016, alongside the Glendronach and Glengassaugh brands. Thanks to an exceptional reserve of casks carefully preserved since 1965, BenRiach today offers a diverse range combining elegance, complexity, with both peated and unpeated styles suited to all palates.
The BenRiach 10 years old is a refined expression, patiently matured in a harmonious combination of American Bourbon casks and Spanish Sherry casks, which gives it a unique aromatic richness, blending soft, fruity, and elegantly woody notes.
