Etsu - Pacific Ocean Water Gin - 45%
Etsu is an exceptional gin made in Japan , the fruit of the expertise of two distilleries located in remarkable natural settings. In Asahikawa , on the island of Hokkaido, at the foot of the majestic Taisetsu Mountains, the harsh climate and pure spring water provide an ideal environment for the creation of subtly balanced gins, such as Etsu Original or Etsu Pacific Ocean Water. Further south, in Akita Prefecture, a second distillery creates fruitier expressions, such as Etsu Double Yuzu or Double Orange. Each recipe follows a rigorous artisanal process, highlighting the richness of Japanese botanicals . Maceration time varies depending on the site: 22 hours in Asahikawa for clean and powerful profiles, up to 7 days in Akita for rounder and more developed aromas. Yuzu, juniper, angelica, licorice, coriander and even matcha are expressed with intensity in these unique compositions.
Distilled on the island of Hokkaido, within the Asahikawa distillery, Etsu Pacific Ocean Water Gin draws its originality from a rare ingredient: pure water drawn from the depths of the Pacific Ocean , used during distillation. This water gives the gin a subtle minerality and great freshness. After a 22-hour maceration, the Japanese botanicals (yuzu, bitter orange, coriander, juniper, licorice and angelica) reveal all their aromatic intensity. The result is a balanced gin, both complex and luminous, perfect in cocktails as well as gin and tonics.
" A wave of Japanese freshness. Etsu Pacific Ocean Water gin seduces with its discreet salinity that highlights the lemony brightness of yuzu and the vegetal nuances of coriander. On the palate, the balance between liveliness, sweetness, and minerality is remarkable. Enjoy it as a gin and tonic topped with sparkling water or in a martini with a touch of lime for a refreshing, salty twist."
