KI NO TEA - Dry Gin from Kyoto - 45.10%
The Kyoto distillery is the very first Japanese craft gin distillery, highlighting Japan's excellence and tradition in the world of spirits. Located in Minami-Ku, south of Kyoto, near the renowned Fushimi region, famous for centuries for its production of nihon-shu (Japanese sake), this distillery benefits from a unique terroir. This area offers an abundance of exceptional raw materials: the pure and soft waters of Fushimi as well as a wide selection of essential local ingredients, such as yuzu, sansho, and the famous Uji teas, recognized for their unparalleled quality.
KI NO TEA is the result of a prestigious collaboration with the master tea producer and iconic blender, Hori-Shichimeien, founded in the Meiji era in 1879. Based in the famous Uji region, south of Kyoto, a carefully selected assortment of Uji teas was rigorously chosen to form the very essence of KI NO TEA. The Tencha and Gyokuro teas bring deep and intense aromas, as well as a rich taste with a naturally revealed sweetness during the distillation of these exceptional teas. The distillery primarily uses leaves harvested from the historic Okunoyama tea garden, dating back to 1300, which perfectly blend with a unique secret botanical recipe exclusively reserved for KI NO TEA.
