Paul John is a prestigious Indian whisky brand crafted by John Distilleries, a renowned company based in Bangalore, India. The distillery specializing in Single Malt is located in Goa, a region with a unique tropical climate that directly influences the maturation process. The Paul John Single Malt Whisky was first introduced in 2012 in the United Kingdom before being launched in Goa in 2013, and then in Bangalore in 2015. Since 1996, John Distilleries produced blends, and from 2008 onwards, it dedicated itself to producing high-end Single Malts, aiming for excellence and uniqueness.
Master distiller Michael D'Souza carefully selected quality Indian ingredients to give his whiskies unique organoleptic characteristics, perfectly in harmony with their terroir. Goa, with its hot and humid monsoon tropical climate, accelerates whisky aging, offering faster maturation and intense aromas compared to cooler regions. This climatic peculiarity gives Paul John round and deep notes, expressing the richness of the Indian terroir.
Paul John whisky is made from 6-row Indian malted barley and incorporates, depending on the versions, selected peat imported from Islay and Aberdeen. Distilled in traditional copper pot stills, it is then aged in charred American oak barrels that bring notes of vanilla, caramel, and soft spices.
Brilliance is a refined Single Malt, aged in first-fill Bourbon casks for 5 to 6 years, ensuring aromatic richness and a silky texture. This aging in new casks carefully reveals all the subtlety and finesse of this whisky.
