This barley shochu is made from barley rigorously selected and grown on the island of Kyushu, known for its exceptional terroir. It was carefully distilled in 2019 at the Yanagita distillery, located in Miyakonojo, Miyazaki Prefecture, a place renowned for its local expertise and high standards. The koji used is a high-quality white rice koji, an essential element for fermentation, giving the shochu its unique character and finesse. This spirit was distilled in a traditional still and then aged for 2 years in Mizunara casks, a rare Japanese oak known for its complex woody notes and subtle influence that enhances the aroma and depth of the drink.
