Tatanka is a recognized artisanal company in Martinique, specializing in the creation of unique hand-painted artworks on various supports. Since 1996, a talented Martinican artist has been creating works directly on glass, in an authentic naive art style, bringing to life bottles illustrating captivating scenes from the Neisson distillery. These original creations pay tribute to the meticulous work of the passionate men and women involved in crafting the prestigious Neisson rums. For each special edition, three distinct and artistic illustrations are offered, further enhancing the uniqueness of each bottle.
The Neisson Distillery, a symbol of Martinican excellence, is located in Carbet, Martinique. Founded in 1932 by the Neisson brothers, it carries on a rich and innovative family heritage. Jean Neisson, a renowned chemical engineer, dedicated his life to perfecting traditional distillation techniques to ensure unparalleled quality. Today, his descendants Claudine and then her son Grégory continue this passionate pursuit of excellence. Initiated in 2013, the transition to certified organic farming culminated in 2016 with the launch of the first organic AOC Martinique rum, an environmental and gustatory benchmark. All agricultural lands exploited, covering more than 40 hectares, are progressively following this same sustainable commitment. After several years of thorough research, Neisson masters the exclusive use of its own indigenous yeast strains, rigorously selected from those naturally present on the sugarcane of the estate. This reasoned choice also includes the careful selection of crop varieties adapted to the unique typology of each plot, an economic irrigation management system promoting water preservation, as well as efficient effluent treatment. All these measures contribute today to the production of exceptional agricultural rums, in perfect harmony with the natural ecosystem of the Neisson lands.
