GLENDRONACH - 27 years - Single Cask Oloroso Puncheon - Bottled 2021 - Vintage 1993 - 54.20%
GlenDronach is a Scottish Single Malt with a rich heritage, highly appreciated by lovers of characterful whiskies, crafted in the picturesque village of Forgue, near Huntly in Aberdeenshire, in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Founded around the Glen House built in 1771, the GlenDronach distillery was established in 1826 by its visionary founder, James Allardice. Over the centuries, it underwent several ownership changes before becoming a subsidiary of Teacher and Sons in 1960, famous for its renowned blends. After a period of inactivity starting in 1996, the distillery reopened in 2001 under Allied Distillers, then was integrated into the Pernod-Ricard group via Chivas Brothers in 2006. In 2008, the Benriach Distillery Company took over, encompassing GlenDronach and Glengassaugh, before being acquired by the international group Brown-Forman in 2016, thus ensuring quality and tradition in every bottle.
This prestigious Glendronach 27 years, from the 1993 vintage, was carefully aged in an exceptional single cask, a Sherry Oloroso puncheon (number 7274), offering a unique aromatic richness linked to sherry cask maturation. Bottled in 2021, this precious elixir is limited to only 674 numbered bottles, guaranteeing its exclusivity and authenticity.
Non-peated whisky, it will charm lovers of deep and complex flavors, enhanced by the rich and fruity notes characteristic of Oloroso casks.
