TRES HOMBRES - Martinique - La Favorite Ed. 47 - 43%
Les Frères de la Côte are an innovative collective of importers and bottlers committed to ecological and sustainable trade, specializing in the transport of products exclusively ensured by traditional sailing ships. Founded in 2015 by two experienced French captains, Raphaël and François Mangin, this company promotes a responsible maritime logistics model. The Frères de la Côte rums have been rigorously bottled since 2017 in their workshop located in Saint-Étienne, in the Loire region. Their flagship ship, the Très Hombres, is a 32-meter brigantine, completely engine-free, capable of transporting up to 35 tons of goods. Since 2010, the Très Hombres has completed 12 transatlantic rotations from its home port in the Netherlands, helping to revolutionize sailing maritime transport. In 2019, the creation of La Compagnie des Frères de la Côte aimed to restore the voilier Zeehaen, a historic brigantine over 45 meters long with a 120-ton carrying capacity. This fleet of cargo sailing ships represents a revolutionary ecological alternative to traditional maritime transport, promoting transatlantic trade combining humanity, environmental respect, and exceptional quality.
The exclusive cuvée Martinique Edition 47 comes from a meticulously selected 2017 harvest, from the prestigious La Favorite Distillery. Loaded aboard the Très Hombres, this rare edition benefits from an initial 4-year aging in the tropical Martinique climate, in ex-Bourbon barrels, giving it a unique aromatic richness. It is then refined for 4 months in Moscatel and Pedro Ximénez barrels, offering a complex taste profile and a burst of fruity sweetness that will delight exceptional rum enthusiasts.
