The Longueteau family settled in Guadeloupe as early as 1766, passing down a unique heritage linked to the art of rum. However, it was only at the end of the 19th<\/sup> century that Louis-Philippe Henry Longueteau acquired part of the prestigious Marquisat de Sainte-Marie, auctioned off following the major crisis in the local sugar industry. In 1895, he bought the Habitation Espérance to transform this sugar estate into an innovative and renowned distillery. Today, it is François Longueteau who continues this family tradition by leading the House, the only distillery in Guadeloupe where the owner is both a farmer and master distiller, thus guaranteeing exceptional quality from terroir to bottle.
Longueteau rums are authentic and 100% natural, made exclusively from their own sugarcane, passionately cultivated and harvested at full maturity on the same day. The cane is immediately crushed, then the juice naturally ferments for 48 hours without any chemical additives, ensuring a product respectful of traditions and the environment. Distillation is carefully carried out in a 28-plate Savalle column, an ancestral method that reveals an unparalleled aromatic richness, the signature of premium agricole rums.
