ARRAN - 23 years old - Drumadoon Point - The Explorers Series 4 - Bottled in 2021 - 49.50% ABV
The Arran Malt is a distillery specializing in Single Malt located on the beautiful Isle of Arran, in the heart of Scotland's picturesque west coast. Renowned for its artisanal production of exceptional whiskies, the distillery offers a wide range of carefully crafted expressions and finishes. Established in 1995 in the northern part of the island, at Lochranza, close to Loch na Davie — Arran's pure water source — it combines tradition and innovation. Initially, the grist (ground malt mixed with hot water for mashing) was purchased from third-party suppliers, but an in-house mill has since been installed to ensure optimal quality control. Arran's single malt is appreciated for its lively and tangy character, notably the result of the slow distillation process carried out by its specific stills, known for preserving fresh and expressive aromas.
Explorer Series, Volume 4 - Drumadoon Point is an exceptional limited edition, aged for 23 years. This fourth edition pays tribute to the natural and wild beauty of the Isle of Arran, illustrated here by a label highlighting the Shiskine Golf Club, a unique 12-hole golf course often recognized as one of the best in the UK. Just north of the course, the majestic sea cliffs shelter the impressive ruins of Arran's largest Iron Age fort, a historic site full of history and mysteries. This exceptional whisky matured for over two decades in precious former Sherry Puncheons, directly imported from Jerez, sourced from a respected small artisanal producer, ensuring richness and aromatic depth. The production of this exclusive batch is limited to 9,000 bottles, thus ensuring a highly sought-after rarity and exclusivity.
