Worthy Park, founded in the 1670s, is a historic gem of Jamaican rum production. The sugar industry began there around 1710, quickly followed by the distillation of molasses rums, making Worthy Park Estate the oldest active distillery in Jamaica. Only three families have managed this emblematic estate: the Price family, with Francis Price as the first owner, who received the estate as a reward for services rendered to the British Crown; then the Talbot family in 1863; and finally the Clarke family since 1918. Between 1950 and 2005, distillation activity was suspended by government decision, while sugar production continued. Distillation has now resumed with a unique Forsyths double retort copper pot still, emblematic of the traditional Jamaican rum style. At Worthy Park Estate, environmental respect is a central priority, guiding all company decisions and activities with a strong ecological awareness.<\/p>\n
