Originally, the prestigious Savanna Estate, located in Saint-Paul at the foot of the majestic mountains of Réunion, emerged as a sugar factory in the early 19th century. The famous Savanna distillery was established a little later, between 1948 and 1950, thanks to the innovative vision of Emile Hugot. A former student of the École Centrale des Arts et Manufactures in Paris, Emile Hugot is an internationally recognized emblematic figure in the sugar industry. From 1982, a strategic partnership elevated the Savanna distillery to the top of premium rum producers. This quest for excellence earned it the distinction of being the very first European distillery certified ISO 9002, attesting to its rigorous quality standards. The meticulous aging takes place in barrels and large casks of French oak, sourced from the prestigious forests of Limousin and Allier, thus giving this rum a unique aromatic complexity.
This Villa Paradisetto cuvée is an extremely rare edition, limited to a few exceptional bottles. Barrel proof, vintage 1999, this powerful rum at 57% reveals more than 20 years of careful aging.
