Domaine Payen - Cuvée Prélud - The Crémant
Domaine Payen is located in Chaudefonds sur Layon, in the Loire Valley. The estate was taken over at the end of 2023 by Ludovic Payen , with approximately 28 hectares of vines being converted to organic farming . He cultivates Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Grolleau and Cabernet Sauvignon in particular on the schist terroir characteristic of Anjou Noir. The wines are produced with minimal intervention.
Crémant is a blend of Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay . It is produced using the traditional method, aging on slats for 12 months.
