The Maison Meunier is located in Saint-Quentin-sur-Isère, right in the heart of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, renowned for its traditions of excellence in the art of distillation. Since 1809, the house has preserved an ancestral know-how thanks to Charles Meunier, a colonial goods trader and botany enthusiast, who partnered with Camille Teisseire, a famous maker of Ratafias and liqueurs in Grenoble. Together, they developed a unique distillate combining alpine plants and génépi, thus giving birth to the very first Génépi of the Alps, an aromatic treasure emblematic of this mountain region. From 1841, Charles Meunier, appointed tax collector in Voiron, entrusted his precious heritage to his wife Amable, who, supported by her children, established the Distillery under the name A. Meunier Mère et Fils, and marketed the delicious Meunier Liqueurs, faithful to her husband's original recipes. In 1975, the Meunier Distillery was taken over by Eugène Modelski, former financial director of the Compagnie Française de la Grande Chartreuse. After rigorous training, his eldest son François became Master Distiller and managed production with rigor and passion for over thirty years. Later, Patrick Modelski took over, ensuring the development and marketing of Meunier products. In 2021, the third family generation committed with Édouard and Arthur, now guardians of the reputation and quality of Maison Meunier.
