Campbeltown Loch - Blended Malt - 46%
The Springbank Distillery is one of the few distilleries still operating in the historic Campbeltown region, located on the Kintyre peninsula in the southwest of Scotland. Renowned for its tradition and exceptional expertise, it produces Single Malt whiskies under three distinct expressions: Springbank, Longrow, and Hazelburn. Founded in 1828 by Archibald and Hugh Mitchell, it was the 14th licensed distillery in Campbeltown. Since 1934, only Springbank and Glen Scotia have continued this tradition. The distillery remains owned by the direct descendants of the founders, ensuring a unique continuity. Springbank is one of the few Scottish distilleries to master its entire production on-site, including traditional barley malting and bottling, thus guaranteeing optimal quality control. This artisanal mastery allows the creation of three unique whisky styles, each influenced by different cask choices and the local maritime and temperate climate. The parent company, JA Mitchell & Sons, also revived the Glengyle distillery in 2004, where Single Malt is produced under the Kilkerran brand. The group also includes the independent bottler Cadenhead's, known for its exclusive selections.
Campbeltown Loch, produced by J and A Mitchell, is an exceptional blend bringing together the five iconic Campbeltown Single Malts: Hazelburn, Springbank, Longrow, Kilkerran, and Glen Scotia. Since 2022, several editions have been released, each praised for its balance and aromatic richness, notably in successful blind tastings. Its base is a non-peated Kilkerran whisky, enriched by the subtle and harmonious influence of each of the other malts. This composition gives Campbeltown Loch a unique complexity, combining intensity and finesse, to offer an unforgettable tasting experience.
