BARBANCOURT - Estate Reserve - 15 years x Limited Edition Clos des Spiritueux 1802 - Islay Finish - 46.7%
Barbancourt is a prestigious premium agricole rum brand, produced in Haiti by the Société du Rhum Barbancourt S.A. Founded in 1862 by Dupré Barbancourt, originally from the Charente region in France, this iconic house applies the traditional double-distillation technique used for cognac, combined with aging in Limousin oak barrels. In 1949, the distillery was established in the heart of the vast sugarcane fields of the Barbancourt Estate, located in the fertile Cul-de-Sac plain. Since 1952, production has been carried out exclusively from sugarcane grown on site, processed into pure juice according to an ancestral method carefully passed down for over 160 years, thus guaranteeing unmatched authenticity and quality.
To celebrate its 160th anniversary, Barbancourt has partnered with Clos des Spiritueux for an exceptional collaboration. This limited edition is the first from the distillery to benefit from a unique and refined finishing. The rum is first aged for 15 years in Cognac barrels, then refined for 6 months in Bourbon barrels before spending a few weeks in a barrel that previously contained peated whisky from the island of Islay. This process gives the rum an unprecedented aromatic complexity, blending elegance, power, and delicate smoky notes.
Peated: this term refers to a characteristic smoky flavor, derived from whisky malt exposed to burnt peat, bringing depth and character to this exclusive edition.
