Nikka Whisky Distilling Company is an iconic distillery from Japan, founded by Masataka Taketsuru, globally recognized as the founding father of artisanal Japanese whisky. Son of a sake master brewer, Taketsuru was trained in chemistry before refining his expertise at several renowned Scottish distilleries. Returning to Japan in 1920 with his Scottish wife, Rita, he played a crucial role in creating the very first Japanese whisky under the Suntory brand (Kotobukiya Limited). Subsequently, he founded the legendary Yoichi distillery and the parent company Nikka, marking a major turning point in the whisky industry. Nikka also stands out for facilities dedicated to the production of Shochu (distilled alcohol made from various raw materials such as rice, barley, or sweet potato), as well as specialized workshops for producing cider brandy and apple wine. In 2001, the Asahi Breweries group acquired Nikka, thereby strengthening its position in the premium spirits market.
Nikka From The Barrel is a refined blend, launched in 1985, combining more than 100 different batches of malt and grain whiskies from the finest selections. This unique blend is then matured in used oak barrels, where it continues to age for several months to develop exceptional aromatic complexity and unparalleled taste richness.
