Glen Scotia - 10 years - Campbeltown - 40%
Glen Scotia is an iconic distillery located in Campbeltown, on the Kintyre peninsula in Scotland, a region known for its unique whiskies rich in history. Founded in 1832 under the name Scotia by James Stewart, the town's mayor, and John Galbraith, the local provost, the distillery played a major role in the development of Scottish whisky. After surviving various crises, including a closure in 1928, it was able to revive thanks to different owners, including Bloch Brothers who gave it its current name, adding "Glen" in homage to Scottish tradition. The distillery retains a legendary aura, fueled by history and rumors that the ghost of founder Duncan MacCallum still haunts its walls. Owned since 2014 by the Loch Lomond group, Glen Scotia has benefited from significant investments that have strengthened its production capacity, developed its infrastructure, and allowed the creation of a visitor center dedicated to enthusiasts of Scottish authenticity.
The 10-year-old Glen Scotia whisky is carefully aged in first-fill Bourbon casks, giving it rich and delicate aromas, with perfectly balanced vanilla and fruity notes.
