Gordon & MacPhail is a prestigious independent bottler of Scottish whisky, globally recognized for its exclusive and refined selection. Owner of the famous Benromach distillery, Gordon & MacPhail offers a varied and rare range of Single Malt whiskies from the greatest distilleries in Scotland. Founded in 1895 in Elgin, in the iconic Speyside region, this family business carries on over a century of tradition and expertise in selecting, maturing, and bottling the finest whisky vintages.
The Glen Grant distillery, located in Rothes, the heart of Speyside, has a fascinating history dating back to 1840. Founded by brothers John and James Grant, former distillers who traded their illegal smuggling activities for legally authorized distillation, it retains a mythical aura. Upon the founders' death in 1872, James "The Major" Grant, a visionary and dynamic heir, breathed new life into the brand. A passionate innovator, he was the first Highlander to own a car, and under his leadership, Glen Grant was the first distillery to adopt electric lighting, while developing its tall stills and unique purifiers. These technical innovations created Glen Grant's characteristic signature: a malt whisky of exceptional freshness and an inimitable pale color.
This exceptional edition has benefited from an extraordinary aging of 65 years in a first-fill Sherry Butt cask, from a Single Cask (#4451). Bottled on December 15, 2021, this rarity produced only 180 numbered bottles, guaranteeing an exclusive character and unparalleled quality.
