Founded in 1886, Rivière du Mât is one of the oldest and most prestigious distilleries on the island of Réunion still in operation today. The Rivière du Mât Distillery owes its name to a fascinating local legend: an exploration ship stranded in the bed of a river, whose mast remained visible for years, symbolizing the attachment to Réunion's maritime and cultural heritage. Located in Saint-Benoît, on the east coast of the island, this exceptional distillery produces its rums from molasses of sugarcane grown on a unique volcanic soil. This fertile land, combined with the crystal-clear waters of the eastern rivers, imparts authentic and complex aromas to the fermentation and distillation processes, revealing the full richness and uniqueness of the Réunion terroir.

The Cuvée 1886 is an exclusive blend of rare rums, carefully aged in selected oak barrels, offering a refined, deep, and balanced tasting experience with every sip.
