BIELLE - 2011 - 10 years old - Bottled in 2021 - 45% ABV
The Bielle distillery, emblematic of the rum tradition of the Antilles, is ideally located on the paradisiacal island of Marie-Galante. Originally founded in 1769 by Jean-Pierre Bielle, who cultivated coffee, the estate gradually turned to rum production. In 1826, his sons created a refinery-sugar factory covering 53 hectares, thus giving birth to a history rich in artisanal know-how. The true beginning of rum production at the estate dates back to the early 20th century. After a period of abandonment post-World War II, the estate was bought in 1955 by Paul Rameaux. In 1975, management passed to the SEDB (Société d’Exploitation de la Distillerie Bielle), which modernized and progressively developed the distillery.
Recognized today as one of the most prestigious distilleries in the French Antilles, the Bielle distillery works exclusively with small local producers to ensure exceptional quality. The cane juice comes from fresh canes, pressed using two traditional mills. Fermentation lasts 48 hours, promoting optimal aromatic development before gentle distillation carried out using three Savalle stainless steel columns, guaranteeing an elegant purity of the rum.
This exceptional aged rum began its aging in 2011 and matured peacefully for 10 years, developing complex notes rich in woody, vanilla, and spicy aromas that will delight enthusiasts seeking authenticity and finesse.
