KILL DEVIL - Hampden 2001 - Pot Still - 19 years - Single Cask - 59.60%
Edition Spirits is an independent bottling company of rum and whisky founded by brothers Scott and Andrew Laing in Glasgow. Heirs of Stewart Laing, Director of Hunter Laing and former founder of Douglas Laing, they continue the family tradition of excellence. Scott and Andrew joined their father at Hunter Laing following the split with Douglas Laing in 2013. Since then, Edition Spirits has become a flagship branch of Hunter Laing, incorporating the prestigious First Editions series into its portfolio. Mainly specializing in rare quality Blended and Single Malt whiskies, they also have privileged access to exceptional stocks of exceptional aged rums, from prestigious terroirs such as Guyana and Jamaica.
In the 17th and 18th centuries, Caribbean inhabitants referred to their traditional distillates by the evocative name "Kill Devil." Today, although old beliefs have disappeared, the Caribbean remains the birthplace of the most authentic and exotic rums. The Kill Devil series celebrates the richness, variety, and incomparable quality of Caribbean and international rum. Each Single Cask is carefully selected to be shipped to Scotland, where it is hand bottled with the utmost care, following traditional methods.
This exceptional rum was distilled in a pot still in November 2001 at the renowned Hampden distillery located in Jamaica. It benefited from an unparalleled aging of 19 years before bottling in our Scottish warehouses.
