After the founders' deaths in 1872, the young heir James "The Major" Grant, born in 1847 and nephew of John Grant, took the reins of the company with an innovative spirit and unwavering passion for whisky. A bold innovator and pioneer, he was the first man in the Highlands to own a car, symbolizing his taste for modernity and progress.
Thanks to his avant-garde initiatives, Glen Grant was the first distillery to be equipped with electric lighting, revolutionizing production conditions.
