GLEN GRANT - 5 years - Vintage 1983 - 40% ABV
The Glen Grant distillery is ideally located in Rothes, in the heart of the prestigious Speyside region in Scotland, the birthplace of the world's finest single malt whiskies. Founded in 1840 by brothers John and James Grant, two former distillers with a history of smuggling, the distillery quickly established itself as a symbol of innovation and tradition. From 1872, after the founders' deaths, the young James "The Major" Grant, born in 1847 and heir to the family vision, took the reins of the company with passion and boldness. An innovator and pioneer, he was the first man in the Highlands to own a car and introduced electric lighting into the distillery, a revolutionary feat for the time. His attention to detail led him to design the tall slender stills and specific purifiers that give Glen Grant whisky its fresh malty flavor, finesse, and its iconic clear color, still sought after by enthusiasts today. This 1983 vintage 5-year-old whisky perfectly reflects this exceptional craftsmanship, offering a refined and authentic tasting experience.
