Berry Bros & Rudd - GLENTURRET - Radh Maor - 8 years - Vintage 2012 - Peated - 63.10%
Berry Bros. & Rudd is the oldest and most prestigious wine and spirits merchant in the United Kingdom, operating since 1698 from the same iconic establishment. Internationally recognized, the company now has strategically located offices in Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong, as well as a wine tasting school and an exclusive space dedicated to rare wines and exceptional spirits in London, making it a global reference in the sector.
The Glenturret distillery, a historic jewel of the Scottish Highlands, was officially established in 1763, but its history dates back to the illicit distillers of 1717 who practiced secret distillation to evade taxation. This rich tradition gives it the reputation of being the oldest distillery in Scotland, a prestigious and widely debated title. Although temporarily closed during World War I, Glenturret was revived under the management of the Mitchell brothers until 1921, before being put to sleep again due to the Great Depression and American Prohibition. It was only in 1957, under the impetus of James Fairlie, that the distillery came back to life, going through several ownership changes before its acquisition in 2018 by the prestigious Lalique Group.
This limited edition was specially bottled for Clos des Spiritueux by Berry Bros., attesting to its unique character and impeccable quality. Distilled in 2012 at Glenturret, this expression was aged exclusively in a Butt cask (#468), revealing deep and authentic aromas. Only 698 numbered bottles were produced, making this whisky a true collector's item highly sought after by enthusiasts and connoisseurs of premium spirits.
Powerfully peated notes and remarkable aromatic intensity characterize this exceptional whisky, perfect for lovers of peated single malts and Scottish authenticity.
