BRUICHLADDICH - 15 years - Royal Marriage Charles & Diana 1981 - Ceramic Decanter No. 779 - 52%
The Bruichladdich distillery is ideally located on the island of Islay, in Scotland, world-renowned for its exceptional whiskies. It produces Single Malt whiskies under three iconic brands: Bruichladdich, Port Charlotte, and Octomore. Additionally, the distillery also produces the famous Gin The Botanist. Founded in 1881 by the Harvey brothers, Bruichladdich has a rich history marked by key events: after a series of family disputes, William Harvey took over management until a major fire in 1934 followed by his death in 1936. In the following decades, the establishment changed owners several times before closing in 1994. In 2000, a group of investors led by Mark Reynier, known for his Waterford whiskeys in Ireland, bought the distillery. It was completely dismantled and then rebuilt while preserving its Victorian-era equipment, operating without computer automation and using gravity for the production process. In 2012, Rémy Cointreau became the new major shareholder. Bruichladdich is also distinguished by its strong commitment to barley traceability, thus enhancing the quality and origin of this essential raw material.
The Bruichladdich range is characterized by its non-peated whiskies, while heavily peated expressions are marketed under the Port Charlotte label. The Octomore series is renowned for offering limited editions with some of the highest peat levels in the world of Single Malts.
This exclusive edition, limited to only 900 bottles, was bottled in 1981 to celebrate the prestigious marriage of Prince Charles and Lady Diana. This exceptional 15-year-old whisky represents a true collector's item, highly prized by spirit enthusiasts and fans of the British royal family.
