Born in Bologna, Italy, Silvano Samaroli, founder of the prestigious house, began his activity in 1968 by selecting and bottling some of the best whiskies in the world. From the start, he stood out as the only non-British independent bottler, bringing a unique vision to the world of spirits. In the 1990s, Samaroli expanded his expertise by including rum in his catalog: he explored the best distilleries in the Caribbean and brought the casks back to Scotland, where the temperate climate allows slow and optimal aging. In 2008, Antonio Bleve, a long-time passionate collaborator sharing Mr. Samaroli's philosophy, took over the house. With the support of a community of rum and whisky experts, Antonio continues the quest for exceptional casks, combining historical relationships and new discoveries. Samaroli also excels in the subtle art of blending, combining the complexity of aged spirits with the liveliness of young vintages, sometimes refining his whiskies and rums by finishing them in new casks, thus bringing unique depth and richness well beyond traditional Single Malts. The house offers Single Malts and single cask rums chosen for their singularity and exceptional character. Each Samaroli bottle is meticulously labeled with the year of cask filling, bottling year, the exact number of bottles drawn from each cask, and the individually assigned number for each bottle.
