The name Kavalan honors the original inhabitants of the plains of this region, an indigenous tribe whose history is intimately linked to this terroir. The distillery embodies the ambitious dream of a visionary Taiwanese entrepreneur. Since its creation in 2006, thanks to the close collaboration between Jim Swan and master blender Ian Chang, Kavalan has succeeded in developing a unique style that stands out on the international market. The first single malt whisky was marketed in 2008, followed in 2009 by the release of the extraordinary Solist range, which revolutionized the approach to premium whisky.
From 2010 onwards, the first prestigious recognitions began to flow in, highlighting the exceptional quality of this distillery.
