Vintage 1963 - BRUT DE FÛT - 35 Cl bottle
Frédéric Bourgoin is a passionate winemaker based in Saint Saturnin in Charente, at the heart of the iconic Cognac region in France. On the family estate, he carefully crafts exceptional cognacs, unique both in origin and character. His philosophy is based on natural viticulture, complete transparency in practices, and a bold touch of innovation to enhance each vintage.
The family vineyard, bearing the name BOURGOIN since 1930, now extends over the prestigious crus of Premiers Bois, Petite Champagne, and Fins Bois. With a clear ambition: to help French enthusiasts rediscover the authenticity and rich flavors of a true winemaker's cognac, deeply rooted in its terroir.
"Above all, I claim the exceptional terroir of the Premiers Bois, a precious and almost forgotten cru, defined since the original 1909 map. It benefits from remarkable subsoils from the Upper Cretaceous (Middle Cenomanian), offering unparalleled aromatic potential. I strive to produce 100% natural cognacs that faithfully and intensely reveal the very essence of their terroir of origin."
Natural, meaning? Without artificial blends, without aggressive mechanical filtration, without added colorants or sugars. Each cognac is bottled by vintage, by parcel, and by barrel, ensuring a pure and singular expression. Older vintages are offered at their natural alcohol strength for an authentic pleasure.
Reductions of young eaux-de-vie are carried out exclusively with distilled rainwater to optimize the aromatic power and freshness of the finished product. Racking is done according to the lunar cycle, by gravity, a natural method that favors delicate aroma transmission and avoids excessive filtration.
Bottling is done entirely by hand, directly on the family estate. "I dedicate my cognacs to passionate wine merchants, demanding gastronomic tables, and high-level mixology experts." Note: production quantities are very limited, but quality and richness of flavors are always guaranteed.
Our emblematic cuvée? MICROBARRIQUE 1994 in a 35 cl bottle at 43% vol. A truly atypical 1994 vintage cognac, carefully aged with an innovative finish in a 10-liter micro-barrel, subjected to crocodile charring (55 seconds of intense flame). The nose and palate reveal a rich palette of tropical aromas: bourbon vanilla, jammy strawberry, roasted pineapple, and overripe mango, for an unforgettable tasting experience.
