Domaine des Comtes Lafon , established in Meursault since the late 19th century, is one of Burgundy's undisputed jewels. Under the direction of Dominique Lafon, and later his daughter Léa, the estate has preserved a legacy of excellence while adopting exemplary viticulture, certified organic and biodynamic. The resulting wines combine rigor, purity, and intensity, expressing the unique character of each terroir with rare precision.
This wine perfectly illustrates this philosophy. Sourced from several parcels situated on well-drained, stony slopes, it benefits from a remarkably refined winemaking process: hand-harvested grapes, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, gentle maceration, and patient aging in oak barrels, a small proportion of which are new, to preserve the fruit's balance. The sunny and harmonious 2022 vintage yields a wine of immediate charm, vibrant elegance, and beautiful depth.
On the nose, the wine reveals an enchanting bouquet of fresh cherry, raspberry, and violet, underpinned by delicate nuances of sweet spices, peony, and lightly toasted oak. On the palate, the texture is fluid and silky, supported by velvety tannins and perfectly integrated acidity. The fruit blossoms with purity and brilliance, revealing a subtle structure and a delicately mineral finish. The long, ethereal finish leaves an impression of balance and grace, typical of Volnay.
