Velier is an iconic house, founded in 1947 by Casimiro Chaix in Genoa, Italy. From 1953, with his partner Arturo Lupi, the company began traditional importation of wines and spirits, distributing champagne, grappa, but also teas and cocoa. In 1983, Gian Luca Gargano, then marketing director of Spirit SpA, the largest Italian import company, joined the capital, and in 1985, Velier specialized in importing the finest premium spirits for restaurants and wine bars. A proud pioneer, in 1988 Velier became the first Italian company to import New World wines. From 1992, Velier meticulously selected rare casks of Single Malts and exceptional rums, launching in 1995 its own brand dedicated to exceptional spirits. In 2001, Velier offered its first exclusive selection of Damoiseau rums. The Habitation Velier project, created in 2015, is the result of collaboration between Luca Gargano and the best rum distillers in the world. Each expression of Habitation Velier is a unique Pure Single product, embodying an innovative project and unique characteristics, representing a true "world first" for each partner distillery.
This exceptional Clairin is made from the distillation of Cristalline variety sugar cane, grown on the Saint Michel de l’Attalaye plateau in Haiti. It results from a subtle blend of 18 selected casks, previously containing Single Malt whisky or rum, and has benefited from an optimal aging of 5 years, giving it remarkable aromatic depth and rare gustatory complexity.
