Silent Pool Gin - 43%
Silent Pool Distillers is an exceptional craft distillery located in Surrey, England. Founded in 2013 by a group of passionate friends, it draws its inspiration from the edge of the mysterious and legendary Silent Pool pond, renowned for its fascinating history: according to local legend, King John abducted a woodcutter's daughter, who was forced to drown in its deep waters, and her spirit is said to still haunt the place at midnight. This rich history gives the distillery a unique and authentic aura.
To ensure a traditional and environmentally respectful manufacturing process, a vintage wood-fired steam boiler has been carefully restored to power the handmade copper still, custom-designed by the famous German company Arnold Holstein. The distillery's privileged location offers direct access to exceptional local ingredients such as chamomile and elderflower, which grow naturally around the Silent Pool pond, as well as roses and lavender that border the charming hills of the village of Albury. This unique terroir gives the spirits an incomparable aromatic profile.
True to its ecological values, Silent Pool Distillers operates in a sustainable and responsible manner: installation of solar panels, boiler powered by vegetable oil, rigorous waste recycling, reuse of bottles to make candles, and many other eco-friendly initiatives integrated into daily operations, demonstrating the distillery's deep commitment to nature preservation.
The Silent Pool Gin, subtle and complex, is made from 24 carefully selected botanicals. These are first macerated to extract their precious essential oils, forming the aromatic base of the gin. Then they are delicately steam-infused, using the artisanal tea bag method, before the whole is distilled with authentic honey from a nearby hive, added directly into the still to enrich the flavors and bring natural sweetness.
