Real Minero - Espadin & Largo - 51.3%
Real Minero is an iconic artisanal mezcal brand from the Ángeles family, originating from Santa Catarina Minas, in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. The story begins with great-grandfather Don Francisco Ángeles, nicknamed "Papa Chico," who laid the foundations of ancestral know-how and an authentic family heritage. Today, the family business is passionately and rigorously managed by Graciela, Adriana, Miriam, and Édgar Ángeles Carreño, continuing the tradition and excellence of traditional mezcal.
This exceptional mezcal is made from carefully selected agaves: Largo (a variety of Karwinskii agave) and Espadin (a variety of Angustifolia agave), with plants aged 10 to 14 years to ensure aromatic richness and complexity. The cooking is done in a conical earth oven with wood, an ancestral traditional method that gives mezcal its characteristic smoky notes. The agaves are then crushed using a modern electric mill, thus preserving the quality of the must. Natural fermentation occurs thanks to the indigenous yeasts of the Oaxaca terroir, ensuring a unique aromatic depth. Double distillation takes place in stacked clay pot stills, called "Filipino distiller," a traditional technique that gives this mezcal all its finesse and distinctive character.
