Nonino Grappa - Il Prosecco - 38% | Clos des Spiritueux
Nonino is an iconic distillery located in the Friuli region, in the northeast of Italy. Founded in 1897 by Orazio Nonino, it embodies Italian excellence and tradition in the craft production of grappa. For over a century, the Nonino family has preserved a unique know-how, passed down from generation to generation, blending innovation with respect for ancestral methods.
In 1933, under the impetus of Antonio Nonino, third generation, the distillery expanded its range with iconic liqueurs, while continuing to excel in grappa production. Following Antonio's death, his wife Silvia Nonino became the first woman to lead a distillery in Italy, marking the industry's history with her avant-garde vision. In 1973, thanks to Benito and Giannola Nonino, the first single-varietal grappa was born according to the Cru concept, elevating Nonino's quality and reputation to an international level. From 1989 onwards, the family invested in planting 40 hectares of vineyards, with indigenous grape varieties such as Picolit, Ribolla Gialla, Fragolino, and Schioppettino, to control every step of production from terroir to bottle.
Distillation at Nonino is a meticulous art: the family personally selects grape pomace of exceptional quality, destemmed and transported to the distillery immediately after vinification to preserve all its aromatic freshness. The grape pomace, after controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, is distilled in small traditional copper stills, thus guaranteeing a pure, refined, and complex distillate.
Nonino Grappa Il Prosecco is made exclusively from pomace of the Glera grape variety, also used for producing the famous sparkling wine Prosecco. This grappa stands out for its finesse, delicate floral aromas, and silky texture, ideal for pure tasting or in cocktails.
