In 1881, Albert Bacon Blanton was born into one of the first influential families in Bourbon history. At just 16 years old, he began his career at the family distillery as an administrative employee before becoming a recognized pioneer in the evolution and promotion of classic American Bourbon. His vision enabled the distillery to expand significantly: from 44 to 144 buildings between 1921, the year he was appointed president, and 1952, the year of his retirement. Under his leadership, Buffalo Trace Distillery became the largest and most respected of its time, a symbol of innovation and craftsmanship.
Colonel Blanton created a very special and limited stock of Bourbon, known as his private reserve. These exceptional barrels were carefully selected and stored in the famous Warehouse H, now legendary. Since his death in spring 1959, his legacy continues through every bottle. Launched in 1984, Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon is recognized as the first Bourbon of its kind to be marketed, embodying the pinnacle of quality and refinement.
This exclusive edition of Bourbon comes from barrel no. 152 drawn on January 22, 2021. Its maturation took place entirely in the authentic Warehouse H, precisely on Rick no. 48. The Bourbon is bottled at a remarkable strength of 62.8% ABV, guaranteeing an intense and authentic tasting experience for lovers of exceptional spirits.
