The Savanna Distillery, located on Réunion Island, is an essential reference in the world of exceptional rums. Founded between 1948 and 1950 by the visionary Emile Hugot, this distillery based in Saint Paul was initially connected to the local sugar factory of the same name. In 1982, the Savanna Distillery took a decisive step by acquiring a distillation workshop dedicated exclusively to the production of light rum intended for export, thanks to a strategic partnership with a leading German spirits market player. This acquisition marked a major turning point in the technological and qualitative development of the distillery, allowing it to diversify its products and enhance its expertise.

Today, the Savanna Distillery exports the majority of its production to demanding professionals worldwide. It uses a discontinuous fermentation process, also called "mother tank" fermentation, which consists of 8 fermenters of 100 m3<\/sup> each, accompanied by their satellite equipment. This discontinuous fermentation method is the key to obtaining a rum of excellent quality, with authentic aromas and remarkable aromatic richness.
